Our Work

Our Journey of IMPACT

Founded in 2015, UMAR Foundations India is driven by a mission to create lasting change for underprivileged communities. Inspired by Mohammad Shaikh Patel’s vision that “sustainability, social equity, and environmental responsibility are business challenges too”, we connect compassionate citizens, corporates, and marginalized groups to promote inclusive development.

Born from the spirit of India’s economic transformation, we work to uplift lives through education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and child welfare—inviting CSR partners, donors, and changemakers to join us in building a more equitable, sustainable future.

Our Working Model

At Umar Foundations India, our unique Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) model ensures every department functions with strong monitoring, accountability, and measurable outcomes. This framework blends social responsibility, volunteer engagement, and expert-led investment strategies to drive sustainable development and organizational excellence.

Strategic, Scalable & Sustainable Impact

We focus on building a culture of leadership, transparency, and impact-driven execution within the non-profit sector. Through this model, we collaborate with like-minded individuals, corporates, and global development partners to scale our initiatives and optimize social returns.

Outreach

Expanding Impact Across Urban Slums and Rural India

Our Outreach strategy enables direct implementation of development programs in remote villages and urban slums across India. By partnering with grassroots NGOs, corporate CSR arms, PSUs, and international development agencies, we tailor our interventions to local needs while ensuring broader social impact.

Our outreach differs from the SPV model by supporting community-based organizations to become self-sustaining, enabling deep-rooted transformation at the grassroots level.

Key initiatives include

  • Education Programs:
Project Paathshala, Project Hunar, Project Kalam – providing quality education and skill development for underprivileged children and youth.
  • Women & Livelihood Empowerment:
Project Ratan – vocational training centers for women, supported by trained volunteers and professional mentors.
  • Healthcare Access:
Project Shifa, Project Ruksar – free health camps and medical aid in underserved areas.
  • Community Development:
Integrated infrastructure and welfare projects aimed at improving living standards in marginalized regions.
